How long have you been involved in this industry?

Hi, Kirk!
That is a cute name. Yes, the sport keeps me "on track" on my recovery journey. I love pushing my limits of strength, and seeing the results of course, but ultimately it is about health.
So, how long have you been involved in fitness? I have been teaching aerobics for 21 years, but just got into bodybuilding in 2001 and started competing in 2005, at age 44.
I am taking 2010 off from competing so that I can focus on adding muscle. I am a slow one to add, so this time will hopefully benefit me. I had a backslide recently; our daughter had surgery and I stayed with her in the hospital for 5 days. Didn't eat much, didn't sleep, the whole bit. Looked like hell, too!!! So, I am crawling back up to my food plan, which my coach wants to add to every 2-4 weeks. Hence, the year off of competing!!! My off-season training program is pretty intense, so there's no rest this year even w/o a show to prepare for!!!! Just less pressure, which I shall cherish.
