I hope this finds everyone well, and working on their goals for the 2011 Competition Season. First, I wanted to thank Fit Gems again for the 2010 Sponsorship. It was a great honor to be the first Fit Gems Sponsored athlete and I wish all of those competing for the 2011 Sponsorship great success. Now for what is going on with me. Describe yourself briefly.: I am 19 years old. I started competing fitness at age 12, on the NPC National stage at 13, NPC Teen National Champ-2 years in a row (age 13 & 14), then placed top 5 at age 16 at NPC Nationals, Top 4 at NPC Team U-08, then won NPC Jr USA-09 Short Class-at age 17 , and 4 weeks later I Won Jr. Nationals-09 Short Class and turned pro at age 17. I currectly am a personal trainer for LA Fitness and Gymnastics Coach.

Which category do you fall under?: pro competitor

Why did you get involved in this industry in the first place?: I was a gymnast , and a family friend (Lee Haney) told my parents about fitness. I then, met Debbie Kruck at the GNC Show of strength in 2003, and she invited me to her teen competition in 2004 and from that point on I was hooked. I would compete fitness during summer and fall (off season from gymnastics) I continued to compete both fitness and gymastics until I reached level 10 and was being considered for the elite/olympic program, but that was not to be, as my gymnastics coach announced after regionals that he was quitting. At first I was devistated and then I realized that God never closes a door that he doesn't open a window, and I already had that window, Fitness! I made up my mind that summer (2006) that I wanted to be the Youngest to turn Pro in Fitness. My dream became a reality on June 20, 2009, when I won the short class at Jr. Nationals and turned Pro at the age of 17. The youngest in the History of the IFBB to be a Pro. Being the first to achieve that goal at the age of 17, was awesome.

Update

I thought I would let everyone know, that I have called off my wedding plans. We both have a lot we want to accomplish and as we sat down to discuss our goals, I realized that at this point in our lives, we were going in opposite directions. Fitness is very important to me, so for now that is where my focus needs to be. This was a very hard decision for me, but it is for the best at this time in our lives. Only God knows what the future holds, but we will remain friends.

Hey everyone,

I am still coaching gymnastics and training clients, and looking for a full-time job instead of 3 part-time jobs, I plan to still train clients and probably coach my higher level gymnast at night until state competition in March, I couldn't leave them mid-competition season, I will just stop with my younger ones, but I would like a real day job!
